Hauser Diet bookThe Hauser Diet is unique in that it explains why there is not one diet for everyone. The Hauser Diet is actually five different diets: Lion Diet Type™ (carnivore), Otter Diet Type™ (mainly carnivore), Bear Diet Type™ (omnivore), Monkey Diet Type™ (mostly vegetarian) and the Giraffe Diet Type™ (vegetarian). It explains why one person needs a particular type of diet and another person needs another. Avoid the Cold Weather Weight Gain
Many people succumb to weight gain in the winter, and most are people who don’t need to gain any extra. We find ourselves spending more hours inside in front of the TV under a blanket and less time being active. Not to mention, the excessive holiday candy and cake calories. Don’t let yourself fall into that rut this year! Get on your jacket and get out of the house! The cooler it gets, the less time you may want to stay outside. Some people just do not like the cooler weather. So burn your calories FAST and get back inside!

Here are our Top activities to do instead of watching:

1.
Walk-fast! A 20 minute brisk walk burns about 100 calories (walking at 4.5 mph). Go to the mall (now that the holiday shopping is over) and park at the opposite end of the store you need to go to. Walk briskly through the mall for 20 minutes to get to the store.

2.
Ride! Get in the last bit of biking before more snow comes. Moderately biking for 30 minutes burns about 280 calories.

3. Get the rest of your workout inside. Some simple equipment is all you need to keep you active when it’s not possible to get to the gym or exercise outside.

4. Jump! Jumping rope for 15 minutes is equal to running 1 mile and burns about 120 calories.

5.
Step! Doing step aerobics for 30 minutes burns about 300 calories. Try this on a Bosu ball and really strengthen your core muscles!

6.
Kick! Kickboxing for 30 minutes burns 300 calories.

7.
Climb! Climbing stairs for 30 minutes burns about 150 calories. Using a Stairmaster burns even more!

8.
Lift! Strengthen your core muscles by doing weight training that concentrates on your back, hips, and abdomen.

9.
Stretch! Don’t forget to stretch after all of your aerobic and strength training. It helps to tone your body. It is the perfect way to wind down after a great workout.

10.
If you must watch TV, pop in an exercise video!
